Besan Ka Halwa


Today is Buddha Purnima and in this auspicious day I am sharing with you a delicious creamy besan ka halwa which is a delicious gram flour dessert. I had tried it for the first time. It turned out so delicious that it will be in our family favorites. I am sure you will love besan ka halwa.


Preparation time : 10 minutes
Cooking time : 15 minutes 
Serves : 4 to 5

Ingredients :  
1 cup besan/ gram flour 
1 cup sugar or to taste 
2  tsp thandai powder ( I use Patanjali’s Thandai Powder) 
2  green cardamom 
1 bay leaves 
3 tbsp  ghee / clarified butter
3 tbsp fresh cream 
a pinch of salt 
2 cup full cream milk  (take 4 cups milk and make it 2 cups by boiling) 
Handfull  of cashew fried in ghee

Methods of Cooking : 
Heat ghee in a pan then add bay leaves . Add gram flour and fry in medium to low heat till the raw smell of gram flour is gone and you get a sweet fried flavor. Now add crushed cardamom, salt, sugar. Mix well. Now add and then add warm milk and thandai powder. Keep on stirring till you get the desired consistency don’t make it too hard keep it little moist and succulent. Add fresh cream and fried cashew mix well . Put off the flame. Serve this halwa a bit chill. Besan ka halwa is a very sweet flavorful halwa so keep the portion size small and I am sure after a delicious meal you will love and enjoy a chilling creamy yummy halwa.
